Dr. Catherine Doody

Biography
Catherine Doody is a senior lecturer in the School of Public Health Physiotherapy and Sports Science in University College Dublin. She qualified in Physiotherapy in UCD, completed an MSc in Physiotherapy in the University of East London, and completed her PhD in UCD. She is director of the MSc Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy in UCD which is a specialist internationally accredited Musculoskeletal programme. She is a founder co-director of the Centre for Translational Pain Research in UCD. Her research interests are in the identification and classification of musculoskeletal related pain states according to underlying neurophysiological pain mechanisms.
Research interests
Current research includes pain classification and clinical pain phenotyping using quantitative sensory testing and patient reported outcome measures and the identification of pain sensitization in people with Osteoarthritis and chronic pain. She has received research funding from the Health Research Board, Irish Research Council, EuroSpine and the ISCP.
