Annual Scientific Meeting

The IPS annual scientific meeting provides a unique platform for Irish researchers and healthcare professionals across disciplines to engage in conversation and gain a deeper understanding on pain physiology, treatment and management

OUR MISSION

The Irish Pain Society endeavours to promote all aspects of education and training in research and development, and clinical management of chronic pain problems.

The IPS will provide a platform for communication of the latest pain-related research to its membership.

The Irish Pain Society believes that every individual suffering from a chronic pain condition has the right to access appropriate information for the better understanding of his/her/their condition.

The Irish Pain Society believes all patients should have access to the highest possible standard of clinical care, from appropriately trained clinicians, in facilities adequately equipped to meet their needs.

The IPS follows ICD-11, developed by IASP, based on current scientific evidence and the biopsychosocial model. We raise awareness of chronic pain’s multifactorial nature which can adversely impact quality of life for patients and families.

The Irish Pain Society believes that greater recognition and understanding is required at government level so that sufficient resources are made available to meet the needs of patients suffering from this condition.
