We're thrilled to celebrate 25 years of the Irish Pain Society's Annual Scientific Meeting!
This year's event will take place on
Saturday, 18th October 2025, at the University of Galway.

Registration is now open for the Irish Pain Society's 25th Annual Scientific Meeting, taking place this autumn.
Join us for a dynamic and multidisciplinary programme featuring an exceptional line-up of local and international speakers across Basic Science, Nursing, Pain Medicine, Physiotherapy, and Psychology.
A variety of workshops and educational events will also be available on the day to suit all interests and specialties.
Tickets are available until 4:00 pm on October 13th, 2025 – don't miss your chance to be part of this milestone event!
Important: The CPD points awarded for attending the ASM are;

There are no parking restrictions on campus during weekends or after 17:30, Monday to Friday.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION: CLOSED
Abstract submissions are now closed for short oral and poster presentations from across the island of Ireland. Abstracts are welcome from all pain disciplines and career stages.
Accepted abstracts will be published on the IPS website and EFIC National Chapters webpage.
A number of Prizes are awarded at the meeting, including
- Pain Research Medals for the best Clinical Pain Research and Non-Clinical Pain Research posters,
- Dr Hugh Raftery Medal to Non-Consultant Hospital Doctor(NCHD) for best Research / Case Report / Case Series / Audit presentation (poster or short oral) in Pain Medicine and
- Best Short Oral Prize.
This year, an additional prize will be awarded. The Prof Laserina O'Connor medal will be presented to a nurse for the best Research / Case Report / Case Series / Audit presentation (poster or short oral) at the meeting. Dr O'Connor, a past president of the IPS, made a tremendous contribution to pain research and education in Ireland and Europe, and we are delighted to award this medal in her name.
