Policy Advocacy and Influence
The Irish Pain Society (IPS) plays a key role in shaping policy related to pain research, education, and clinical management both in Ireland and across Europe.
Through collaboration with organisations such as EFIC, IASP, and the Societal Impact of Pain (SIP) Platform, IPS advocates for evidence-based, patient-centred approaches to pain care.
IPS engages directly with policymakers, contributes to health policy consultations, and promotes awareness of the societal and economic burden of pain. Our goal is to ensure access to effective, multidisciplinary pain management is recognised as a national health priority.
The IPS is currently engaged with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and patients advocates on developing a Model of Care for Acute and Chronic Pain, which will enhance pain care and management for individuals living with pain across Ireland.
